Wilson's by High Watch
Wilson’s by High Watch was founded with a purpose beyond serving exceptional food, coffee, and baked goods. It was created to provide meaningful opportunities for people in recovery while deepening the connection between High Watch and the Kent community.
Since 1939, High Watch Recovery Center has helped individuals build lives grounded in dignity, purpose, connection, and lasting recovery. Wilson’s carries that mission into downtown Kent through a supportive workplace where people can gain practical experience, rebuild confidence, develop leadership skills, and grow alongside mentors and colleagues who understand the recovery journey.
Meaningful employment can play an important role in rebuilding a life. At Wilson’s, team members are encouraged to learn, contribute, accept responsibility, and discover their strengths. The goal is not simply to provide a job, but to create an environment where individuals can move forward, build independence, and recognize their own potential.
Wilson’s is also deeply rooted in the community it serves. By welcoming residents, visitors, local businesses, and community partners, we create a gathering place centered on good food, genuine connection, and shared purpose. Through employment, mentorship, outreach, and everyday interactions, Wilson’s strengthens the community while demonstrating what is possible when people are given the opportunity and support to grow.
Wilson’s and High Watch operate as nonprofit organizations, and all proceeds from Wilson’s support Wilson Beds. This program helps provide extended treatment and recovery support to individuals who may not otherwise have the financial resources to continue their care. For many, that additional time provides the stability, guidance, and community needed to establish a strong foundation for lasting recovery.
When you visit Wilson’s, you are doing more than supporting a local bakery and café. You are helping people in recovery discover their strengths, build meaningful lives, and become part of something greater than themselves.
